The practice has appointments available morning and afternoon five days per week. If you require an appointment with a preferred GP we pre-book six morning and five afternoon appointments per GP up to four weeks in advance. We also have six morning and five afternoon appointments with each GP available to book 24 hours in advance. This is to minimize the number of missed appointments.

Once the pre-booked appointments have been booked the rest are booked on the day. You can either contact the surgery at 08:00 by telephone or call at the surgery to book an appointment for the same day. We would like to advise you that it is not always possible to see the GP of your choice if you book on the day. When all appointments have gone for that day the duty doctor is available to give urgent telephone advice and will assess the need for an emergency appointment.

Extended Hours Appointments are available either before 08:00 or after 18:30 for patients who are unable to attend during the normal practice hours, please ask at reception or telephone the practice if you require an extended hours appointment

Telephone Advice

Telephone advice is available from the duty doctor who is on call from 08:30 until 18:00.

If the GP is out on a visit, arrangements will be made for them to contact you on their return.

Non Attendance

On average 200 appointments a month are wasted due to patients’ failure to notify the practice that they no longer need an appointment. This equates to over 33 hours of appointments.

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
